The Mexican Grand Prix made a popular return to the calendar in 2015 and the race has enjoyed strong support from local fans. Tickets for the race always sell out quickly despite high prices. The race, now funded by the local government and known as the Mexico City Grand Prix, will stay on the F1 calendar until at least 2028. Local hero Sergio Perez returns to the Formula 1 grid in 2026 with Cadillac.

Tickets for the 2026 Mexico City Grand Prix went on sale on November 12 via Ticketmaster Mexico and sold out within a few days. The good news is that our trusted supplier also offers official tickets direct from the promoter allocation. We think the best value seats can be found in the Estadio (Foro Sol stadium) section (Grada 14/15), which has an unrivaled atmosphere and is also where the podium ceremony takes place after the race. For on-track action, the best seats can be found in the Blue and Yellow zones at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. Compared to a lot of other circuits, the grandstands are situated very close to the circuit in Mexico, especially in the Blue and Yellow zones, a definite positive for spectating at this circuit.

Where to Buy Tickets for the Mexico City Grand Prix?

  • We recommend buying your tickets for the 2026 Mexico City Grand Prix from our trusted supplier, Grand Prix Tickets (GPT). Tickets are official and come direct from the race promoter.
  • We also recommend Official Ticket Packages from F1 Experiences, which offer a choice of grandstand or hospitality packages in Mexico. Hotel rooms in Mexico City with or without daily coach transfers to and from the circuit can also be added to your ticket package.

Mexico City Grand Prix Tickets: Need to Know

  • All tickets are sold for 3 days.
  • You will receive E-tickets for the 2026 Mexico City Grand Prix. Your tickets will be sent to you electronically a few weeks before race weekend.
  • There are no pass outs during the Mexico Grand Prix. If you leave the circuit, you cannot re-enter on the same day.
  • Don’t forget that Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez is separated into colored zones (view interactive map). You will only be able to enter the circuit in the zone for which you have purchased tickets. It’s not possible to freely go to different zones at the circuit.
  • Children aged under 4 are granted free entry, but they cannot occupy a seat. Tickets are not discounted for children aged 4-18. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Best Seats to Choose at the 2026 Mexican Grand Prix?

  • Budget (<$500): There’s only one small General Admission area in Mexico City (6a), which is located in the Blue Zone on the straight between Turns 3-4. Better to pay a little more for the cheapest seats in the Foro Sol Stadium Complex.
  • Mid-Range ($500-1000): The best atmosphere at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez can be found in the Estadio (Foro Sol Stadium). Other recommended grandstands with a better chance of on-track action include Grada 4-6 in the Blue Zone on the opening corners and Grada 10 in the Yellow Zone.
  • Hospitality (>$2000): The Champions Club by F1 Experiences (3-day access from $5,600 USD)  is recommended for all-inclusive hospitality opposite the pits and access to insider activities. The more expensive Formula 1 Paddock Club (3-day access from $9,600 USD) offers two trackside locations in Mexico City. For the best atmosphere, we recommend choosing Paddock Club in Estadio Level 2 rather than above the pits.

Green Zone: Main Grandstand 1, 2

The Main grandstand in Mexico is separated into two sections and is situated opposite the starting grid and pits. Main Grandstand 1 is situated closer to the final corner, pit entry and the pit boxes of the leading teams, whilst Main Grandstand 2 is situated closer to the pit exit and the front of the starting grid. Given the choice, we would choose Main Grandstand 1 over Main Grandstand 2. A large fan zone is located behind the Main Grandstands.

This is the best place to soak up the race preparation, race start and pit stops, but tickets are very expensive. In fact, according to our 2026 ticket price ranking, Mexico sells the second most expensive Main Grandstand seats on the calendar! If you are after on-track action, choose another grandstand such as Grada 5 overlooking the first corner.

Blue Zone: Grandstands 3A, 4, 5, 5A, 6, 6A

The Blue Zone, which takes in the opening three corners of the circuit, is one of the best places to watch the action at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. You can pretty much be guaranteed action on these corners at some point over the weekend, especially at Turn 1 on the opening lap. The best grandstands in the Blue zone are those closest to the opening corners, especially 3A, 4, 5, and 6. Newer and more affordable grandstands have been added in the Blue zone to meet demand, but the views are not as good. Our pick for the best grandstand in the Blue zone is 5. Even though it is set further back from the track than the others, it offers the best panoramic views of this whole section of track. The best ‘cheap’ grandstand, in our opinion, is 3A. All the grandstands here, with the exception of 5A, are located on the outside of the track.

Yellow Zone: Grandstands 7, 10, 11, 12

Three grandstands – 7, 10, 11, 12 – are located in the Yellow Zone next to Turns 4-6 at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. The Yellow area is also home to several hospitality suites. The best – and most expensive seats – are in Grandstand 10. Whilst the views here are good, and there’s a high chance of some overtaking action, we still prefer similarly-priced seats in the Blue Zone.

Estadio (Foro Sol): Grandstands 14, 15

The two grandstands in the stadium section at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez seat almost 30 000 fans and provide an excellent atmosphere that is almost unrivalled on the entire Formula 1 calendar. Most seats – even lower and closer to the track – still provide a fence-free view of the cars at low speed, making the stadium a good choice for amateur F1 photographers. Don’t forget, you also get to see the podium celebrations from the stadium (Grandstand 15 offers better podium views than Grandstand 14). The downside is that the on-track action in the stadium section is fairly uneventful. There’s hardly any overtaking at the slow-speed corners here. On the flip side, tickets are more affordable than most of the seats in the Blue and Yellow zones at the circuit, where most of the overtaking happens.

Whilst the stadium is one structure, the grandstands are separated into two sections. Grandstand 14 (Estadio South) is the only grandstand in the Grey zone at the circuit, whilst Grandstand 15 (Estadio North) is the only grandstand in the Brown zone. We would argue that Grandstand 15 is the better choice here, as you watch the cars approach you, rather than seeing the side or the rear of the cars from Grandstand 14. Either way, the Estadio grandstands are a safe bet at the Mexico City Grand Prix, especially for first-time visitors.

  1. Hi!
What do you think of the chances to get a good ticket for the race on sunday only (2019)? I might arrive saturday evening late and want to visit the race on sunday with two friends. Do you think you can get a ticket at the entrance or any chance on second hand tickets on the raceday?
    Tnx!

  2. hi, when do you expect tickets for the 2022 race to go on sale? Do we have to have paid a depsoit before? Also am i right in thinking they are sold only as 3 day tickets?

    Thanks

    Tom

      1. Thanks Andrew. Why does it say that some of the tickets on your pricelist are ‘sold out’ when the tickets are not expected to be on sale until start of March. Also i can see people selling tickets on viagogo? Have F1 officially released tickets for this race yet?

        1. Agree that it’s a bit confusing, but I can definitely confirm that the tickets are not sold out – just not allowed to be sold yet. The official site (mexicogp.mx) is still showing registrations, so tickets have not yet been officially released. And the people selling on Viagogo have no right to be selling tickets right now, as far as I’m concerned.

          1. No you cannot choose specific seats with our supplier, but you can request for a particular section/row and they will try to accommodate your request. It may be possible to choose seats when buying from the Mexico promoter.

      1. Hi, are all the tickets are already sold out? Is it common for tickets to sell out so fast (in March itself)?

        1. Yes they are sold out, don’t know if more will become available. This is the new reality for F1. More interest and demand for tickets means that events are selling out very fast.

  3. Hi Andrew,

What’s the deal with buying tickets? The Ticketmaster site just crashed and the official Formula 1 site is selling these tickets overpriced. Is everything pre-determined to be sold out and we’re only able to buy from resellers? Doesn’t seem fair…

I recieved an email from F1 Mexico to get into the ticket purchasing queue. When I got in (after 10 minutes wait), all tickets were sold out except for the most expensive green section. How is that possible?

  5. HI Andrew,
Trying to buy online today for three days F1 says everything but Grandstan are sold out??????
Please direct me to the right website.

  6. What sites do you recommend purchasing F1 tickets, since most will be resale, I am worried about scams.

  7. Hi, first time going to an F1 event. What section would you recommend for a budget of $650? Foro sol sur or Norte? Which has a better viewing angle or any other alternative sections around that price? Thank you.

    1. If you are buying grandstand seats, these are digital ticket that will be emailed to you. Only VIP/hospitality tickets are physical tickets that will be sent via courier.

  8. Hello,

The tickets are sold out everywhere! It’s crazy!
Do you know if there will be a second phase of sale?

    Thank you

    Hi,
Looking into buying the F1 experience tickets. Do you know what time the events start on Thursday? My flight is scheduled to arrive at 1:30 pm local time. Just wondering if it would even be worth it if I miss out on the Thursday events.

    Thanks

    1. Honestly, we don’t yet recommend any 3rd party reseller. It’s quite a new phenomenon for the tickets to sell out so fast. Probably you could look at Vivid Seats, Stubhub, Seat Geek – but I can’t recommend them and for sure the prices will be much higher than when they were available from the promoter

        1. Yes, basically everything sold out for Mexico in the space of a few days back in March. You will have to buy from a resale platform if you want to attend the race this year.

  10. We have the 3 Day tickets but are only going to be able to attend on Sunday. Is there a way to re-sell just the Friday/Saturday tickets? How does that work? Thanks!

    1. Honestly, not sure. It depends if you will receive individual tickets for each day, which I’m not sure for Mexico. Otherwise, if it’s only one ticket for all 3 days then you can’t resell the Friday/Saturday part without risk

  11. We bought tickets back in March and we just got an email yesterday stating they are unable to fulfill our order due to simultaneous bookings. Which I hope is not the case since we booked flights/ hotels already. Its our first time going, does this happen often or what is the deal. It is ridiculous

    1. Who did you buy from? I think a small number of buyers were affected by this problem with some ticket agencies (Gootickets, F1 Tickets). This is a very unfortunate situation, as the race has been sold out since basically the tickets went on sale. It will be very difficult to get reasonably priced tickets now; you will probably have to pay high prices on a resale platform. Sorry this happened to you. I’m sure the ticket company is sympathetic, but not offering you compensation or anything. If you know a good laywer, you could ask them to send a letter to the ticket company on your behalf explaining the situation and asking for compensation. I have no idea if you will have any success, but could be worth a try.

    1. I’m not sure exactly, this could be the hospitality space on that set of corners that’s also called the “VIP Speed Lounge”. For sure, there’s hospitality and also some kind of viewing terrace, but I don’t know more and I haven’t seen this for sale this year.
