Formula E made history in 2018, when Switzerland hosted its first motor sport event after a 60 year hiatus with the Zürich E-Prix. In the 2018/19 season, Switzerland will once again host a round of the championship, but this time in the capital city of Bern due to clashing local events in Zürich.

Details of the circuit has yet to be released, but is speculated to be located in the Ostberg district of Bern.

Bern is a new addition to the Formula E calendar this year. The inaugural 2019 Bern E-Prix will take place on June 22.

Bern Street Circuit is located in the heart of the city, close to the Aare River and Rosengarten Park.

The city of Bern does have a small airport, but it only serves a couple of seasonal destinations. For a better selection of international flights, the closest airports are in Basel, Zurich and Geneva (between 1-2 hours from Bern by direct train). The city is also very well connected by fast trains to much of Western Europe. Learn more on Seat 61.

Bern is a compact city and the circuit is located close to the centre, near Rosengarten Park. If you’ve booked accommodation in the city, you should be able to get a complementary Bern ticket which allows you to get around for free in the city centre, including .trams, buses and several funicular railways.
