The best places to stay near Baku City Circuit for F1 fans attending the 2026 Azerbaijan Grand Prix on September 24-26

Since the Azerbaijan Grand Prix is a street race in the center of the city, you’ll have the best experience staying downtown. There’s a good selection of hostels, apartments and hotels to choose from in Baku, though international chain hotels are priced at a large premium on race weekend. Baku is not the biggest city, so you’ll need to book early to get the best hotels at the most competitive prices.
Trackside Hotels in Baku
Most F1 teams and drivers stay at either the Hilton Baku or the JW Marriott Absheron Baku Hotel (main picture above), which are located at either end of the F1 Paddock at Baku City Circuit. Expect high prices at both hotels on race weekend, but the opportunity to rub shoulders with F1’s elite! Other international chain hotels nearby include the Radisson Hotel Baku, Hyatt Regency Baku, Holiday Inn Baku and the Baku Marriott Hotel Boulevard.
A WORD OF WARNING: Be careful with booking apartments that claim to offer trackside views or balconies overlooking the circuit. Some international fans have been scammed when booking such apartments, even via major booking portals. If you want trackside views, book a hotel instead.

I’m wondering how to find a rental apartment the overlooks the actual race course in Baku. What reputable sites would you recommend? Alternatively, I would also be interested in your opinion of the best viewing seats/grandstands for buying tickets for the race?
Hi James, for finding an apartment overlooking the circuit, I’m really not sure. I suggest checking Airbnb and contacting the owners to ask. Marie Misso, who wrote a 2017 Azerbaijan GP trip report for us, stayed in Don Dar Hotel last year with a room overlooking the circuit. As for grandstands, the views are not fantastic from any of them to be honest. I’d go for Icheri Sheher, with a view of the old city walls.

I am looking at attending the race and looking at accommodation online I cannot believe how cheap most of the hotels/apartments are around the track! Is there a reason for that? Because 4 days in a hotel is coming out at about £200 which just doesn’t seem right?! Regards, Ross
What can I say, Baku is a cheap destination! I’m hoping to attend the race as well. Second try after my trip in 2020 was cancelled. The more difficult aspect is getting good flight connections to Baku, but it’s cheap on the ground.

Depends on the specific hotel. Some of them can have quite severe restrictions, especially for vehicle traffic, from Thursday to Sunday. You should reach out to the hotel to ask specific questions.
